Escuelita
Beginning partners with La Escuelita, a before and after school program that offers a safe and caring environment where children receive assistance with school work (supporting the public school curriculum) a meal vitamins and more.
When Bety, La Escuelita’s director first asked if we would support the school, there were 14 students. Over the years, the numbers have grown significantly and by 2023 there were more than 140 children registered.
When public schools in Puerto Vallarta remained closed due to Covid, La Escuelita was given special permission to remain open. This was a tremendous advantage for the children in our community. They continued to learn. The children have said they feel hopeful about their future.
The principal and teachers from the puclic school visited La Escuelita and were amazed by what they saw. They spent an afternoon sharing thoughts and ideas with La Escuelita teachers. It was an encouraging visit and the public school director continues to communicate with Bety about students in need of extra help.
As La Escuelita enrolment grows, so do the needs. Along with supporing salaries , New Beginnings provides vitamins; teachers supplies ( dry eraser markers, printer ink, paper, pens, etc..) educational games; food and funds for special activities.
